Publish "delete" or "unpublished" records from Rosetta to Primo

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: 3.2.1

    Question

We are looking for a way where when we delete the IE out of Rosetta that it triggers some event to update and delete the metadata within Primo

    Answer

There is a difference in the publishing mechanism between publish to NFS and publish to OAI regarding deleted records.

In OAI the mechanism is as following:
    - Every new record / updated record is published as "new" / "updated"
    - A record that was previously published, and is now deleted or is no longer part of the publishing set is published as "deleted"
Primo can remove all deleted records from the scope.

In NFS publishing the mechanism is as following:
    - Every new record / updated record is published to the folder
    - A record that was previously published, and is now deleted or is no longer part of the publishing set is removed from the folder
Primo will learn that those records were deleted only if you use "delete and reload" pipe, and only if you keep all XML files in the folder untouched.
