Why do I see "get it" service for Primo Central record?

    • Product: Primo, Primo VE, Primo Central
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Question:

Why do I see "get it" tab for a Primo Central record?

    Answer:

Out-of-the-box Primo is set to display additional services from Alma, for Primo Central records. This is displayed in "Get it 2" tab, and done per "GetIt! Link 2 Configuration" Mapping Table in Primo Back Office. In that table, it is defined to use "Almagetit_remote" template for the following Delivery Category / Availability Status:

    Remote Search Resource:Alma / fulltext
    Remote Search Resource:Alma / fulltext_linktosrc
    Remote Search Resource:Alma / fulltext_unknown

The "Almagetit_remote" template is used to query Alma directly, and Alma will return information for additional services. This could include information on physical copies held by the library, request options, ILL and more.

For more information on Remote Configurations, go to Configuring Primo Delivery of Alma Data and Services.

The "get it" service for PC records could contain broader services rather than the specific article. In addition, the tab will display even when no relevant physical holdings exist.

    Primo VE

In the full display of a record, Primo VE will always check if the record is also available physically in the library, and will display the "Get It" service in case there is a physical holdings as well.
