    Introduction

Mixpanel offers various roles to ensure users have the appropriate access and functionality needed for their responsibilities. By assigning the following roles, organizations can ensure each user has access and control, tailored to their specific needs and responsibilities:

    • Project Admin – Users with this role manage and assign roles to other users, and have full access to all features, settings, and data within a project.

    • Analyst – Users with this role focus on data analysis and can create, edit, and view reports. This role can access most data features but with fewer administrative privileges than an Admin role.

    • Consumer – Users with this role primarily view reports and dashboards, have limited access, and cannot modify data or settings. This role includes the Messenger role, which has the same permissions.

    User Management Options for Consortia

The following options are available for consortia:

    • Network Zone (NZ) Management – The NZ manages all IZ accounts (data views) within a single project, and must follow these rules when assigning roles:

      • The Project Admin must be a member of the NZ. More than one Project Admin is supported.

      • The Project Admin cannot grant an IZ user a Project Admin role since this would give the user access to all data views of different IZs and the ability to delete users. IZ users must be assigned an Analyst or Consumer role.

    • Institution Zone (IZ) Management – Each IZ is granted full access to its private project and supports the following types of requests from NZ users:

      • An NZ user can request to be part of an IZ project as an Admin, Analyst or a Consumer role. Note that a Project Admin cannot remove another Project Admin, only users with role permissions below an Admin.

      • An NZ user can submit a request to be subscribed regularly to the boards of an IZ project.

This option does not provide a global view of all IZs within a single report. You must check each IZ separately. However, it will save you the effort of managing multiple accounts (data views).
