    2024 H2

    Duality of Partner Records

    What’s New Highlights Impact

Considerations of  2 partner types for 1 institution

Enable the coexistence of two partners for the same library for the purposes of flexibility between existent options for ISO type partners and Rapido partners which are supper efficient and require less flexibility.

    See Release Notes

Introducing a new partner mechanism that will cover current existing problems and also enable more flexibility.

IdeaExchange: Alert on Digital Request if  Partner is Missing Email Address

    What’s New Highlights Impact

Alert in lending workflow to indicate to staff if the  parnter lacks an email address.

During the workflow of shipping digital requests, staff are alerted if the partner is missing an email address. This allows staff to resolve the missing information so that the requested material can be delivered to the partner.

See documentation on digital requests without email alert.

Libraries will be alerted and be able to act as needed in order to complete the request. Previously, staff could understand the request as completed and partner would not get the requested material as there was not a means to deliver.

Rapido for a variety of library management systems

    What’s New Highlights Impact
Rapido is currently available for libraries using Alma, it  will be available for libraries using other library management systems.
Rapido as an option for more management systems is to be expected after Alma, Folio, and Sierra.
Expands the Rapido community. By making Rapido available to libraries without Alma, it expands the capacity beyond the more than 2,000 Alma libraries, to welcome more libraries around the world to Rapido. This means the discovery to request experience, automated request handling, and use of pods for partner management becomes available to many more libraries. Growing the Rapido community builds the collective collection.

CERV Enhancement: Setting Lending Request Limits

    What's New Highlights Impact
Requests from the same borrower are limited, and additional requests move to another lender.

Set lending limits for number of digital lending requests received from the same partner in a set period of time.

    See Documentation

Lenders can determine the number of requests that they want to receive from the same partner in a set period of time. This can help libraries manage copyright compliance and staffing workloads.

    2025 H1

    Ebook  resource sharing

    What’s New Highlights Impact
Rapido libraries will be able to join a pod for ebook resource sharing.
    Resource sharing for ebooks.
    See documentation
Ebooks are a growing part of library collections and sharing these resources greatly improves access to content, supports sustainability by cutting shipping, and expedites delivery to provide optimal user experience.

    2025 H2

    Rapido Connections

    What’s New Highlights Impact
Improve connections with partners and  experience  consistency of these connections.
Extend Rapido functionality like participating items and pod terms for Rapido libraries when connecting to partners directly.

    See Release Notes
Ease Configurations and streamline expectations across requests within Rapido with Rapido partners.

Self Registration of Library Partners by Staff

    What’s New Highlights Impact
The self registration functionality enables libraries to support discovery and requesting from their collections to enable their role as lenders in relationships with libraries and organizations that need direct access to their  resource sharing services. Libraries will be able to create these accounts and distribute them to their partners.
Self registration functionality can be enabled to allow your partners to register for your library's lending resource sharing services.  There is a need in the Rapido community to be able to  create the  accounts on behalf of your partners and distribute these new credentials. Libraries will be able to create these self registered  partner accounts and share credentials to support their partners in their  discovery and request journey.
Empower libraries as lenders to their networks of organizations, libraries, researchers, and others that rely on them as a lender.  Libraries will be able to create and distribute the credentials need for these partners to discover and request with their library.

Self Registration of Library Partners via API

    What’s New Highlights Impact
The self registration functionality enables libraries to support discovery and requesting from their collections to enable their role as lenders in relationships with libraries and organizations that need direct access to their  resource sharing services. Libraries will be able to use an API to bring in information needed to create these partner accounts.
