Self Registration of Library Partners by Staff

    What’s New Highlights Impact
The self registration functionality enables libraries to support discovery and requesting from their collections to enable their role as lenders in relationships with libraries and organizations that need direct access to their  resource sharing services. Libraries will be able to create these accounts and distribute them to their partners.
Self registration functionality can be enabled to allow your partners to register for your library's lending resource sharing services.  There is a need in the Rapido community to be able to  create the  accounts on behalf of your partners and distribute these new credentials. Libraries will be able to create these self registered  partner accounts and share credentials to support their partners in their  discovery and request journey.
Empower libraries as lenders to their networks of organizations, libraries, researchers, and others that rely on them as a lender.  Libraries will be able to create and distribute the credentials need for these partners to discover and request with their library.

Self Registration of Library Partners via API

    What’s New Highlights Impact
The self registration functionality enables libraries to support discovery and requesting from their collections to enable their role as lenders in relationships with libraries and organizations that need direct access to their  resource sharing services. Libraries will be able to use an API to bring in information needed to create these partner accounts.

    Additions to Shipping Cost Rules

    What’s New Highlights Impact

Additional parameters in the shipping cost rules which enable Rapido libraries  to further define charges for lending to libraries beyond their reciprocal pods.

Expanding beyond reciprocal arrangements, libraries are able to configure shipping cost rules. The shipping cost rules are determine when costs should be automatically apply cto resource sharing lending requests. Additional parameters for these rules enable further customization of working with costs with partners.

Reciprocal arrangements are currently a standard for many Rapido pods. This works well for many library relationships but there are libraries and  connections that are supported by the ability to charge partners. By defining charges for lending, Rapido is a resource sharing solution for a variety of library models.

    Additional Partner Fields

    What’s New Highlights Impact
New partner fields for defining additional partner attributes will be available on the partner records. The new fields being  sector, organization type, account allowances, and alternate account number.
The new fields of   sector, organization type, account allowances, and alternate account number will be available for recording additional information about resource sharing partners.
These fields will be available on the partner record for libraries to have additional information stored about theri partners. These fields will also be available as input paramaters to shipping cost rules and available in analtytics. Run analytics on partner based fields to gain insights on your resource sharing services and network. Define shipping cost rules based on these partner attributes.

CERV: RAENH-I-1273: Stop repeat requests from another library for an item if rejected for copyright

    What’s New Highlights Impact

The option to block repeat lending requests from the same partner if the reject reason is due to copyright compliance.

Through configuration enable lenders to define a time period during which RapidILL will block repeat requests for the same standard number from the same borrowing library if the original request was rejected due to copyright compliance. This functionality will apply to lenders managing requests in Alma Resource Sharing or Rapido, as it relies on RapidILL receiving the value defined within   “reasons for no."

When a lending library rejects a RapidILL request due to copyright compliance, it does not receive another request for that same item from the same RapidILL borrowing library.
