From the community: We noticed that Rapido does not consider closing periods entered in the calendar of the library (with ignore_lender_due_date parameter set as true). The due dates of Rapido requests are therefore not based on that calendar, while the due date of the loaned temporary item is. Consequently, a mismatch occurs, which in addition interferes with the renewals. We would like that: - Rapido considers the closing periods entered in the library calendar in Alma. - Rapido synchronises the borrowing and lending requests due dates. This functionality would be optional.

Rapido pod terms determine the loan period. and thus the due date. The due date will also be influenced by the library's calendar.

Lending libraries may have multiple holdings of an item in various locations. Configure the transit times to the resource sharing to enable the automatic move process to select  the best holding option  for filling the lending request.

Currently if a library has multiple holdings that could be used to fill a request there is not an automated means to prioritize which holding is used. This results in libraries either choosing to manually select the move action  or have not have the preference considered if  automation is used. The automation will consider a preference based on transit time.

There are Rapido use cases of maintaining requests entirely within the consortia. In this model, requests are sometimes managed entirely in the lending workflow. Meaning the borrowing request workflows are not used.  In this scenario, there is value in receiving  more information from the patron at point of request.

To support this model of Rapido and maintain patron privacy of other uses, the patron notes field will maintain current functionality while a new field is made available. The existing  note field is used by some libraries in a manner that is expected to be internal information only. To support libraries seeking a means to transfer more information from the borrowing request to the lending request, an additional field presenting as a drop down menu will be added. The information within the drop down list will be configurable by the borrowing library. The user can then choose from the dropdown when relevant to the request they are placing. This is then passed to the lending library for their review when processing the request.

Streamline patron driven acquisition workflows from resource sharing requests. 

A configuration to define an active work week and hours for managing digital lending requests.

The configuration supports RapidILL lending efforts for article and book chapter requests. The defined work week/hours will be used by the system routing to provide libraries with lending requests in alignment with the times they are actively managing them. The goal is for libraries to receive the majority of their lending requests within these defined hours.

Improves staff and user experiences through better alignment of request assignment to lenders’ active working hours, reducing overall request turnaround times.

Additional fields available in borrowing and lending APIs.

Some consortia utilize APIs in their workflow to extract information about the borrowing institution while working at the lending institution when exchanging requests within their consortia. The borrowing library, borrowing IZ, lending library, and lending IZ fields will be added to the borrowing and lending APIs.
