Are you using the correct RefWorks add-in from Microsoft AppSource?

You might be trying to load an older version called RefWorks – RCM. The old add-in, RefWorks – RCM, was officially deactivated on August 31, 2025, and is no longer available in Microsoft AppSource.

Deactivation of the old RCM add-in was announced in November 2023: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/RefWorks/Knowledge_Articles/New_RefWorks_Citation_Manager_(RCM)_add-in_FAQs

To continue using RCM in Word, install the current RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) add-in:

    1. Go to Microsoft AppSource
    2. Search for RefWorks or RCM
    3. Follow the simple steps to add it to Word

Or click here to install directly from Microsoft AppSource.
