How the Recommended Research Guides Feature Works

When the user's query generates a search topic for display in the Topic Explorer, a search algorithm analyzes the library's research guides indexed in Summon to see if there is a relevant guide to include in the Topic Explorer. The search algorithm looks at all library items indexed in Summon with the content type research guide.

The Topic Explorer will display as many as three relevant research guides. The user's search results set will of course include these research guides as well as any additional relevant guides.
