What are Related Topics, and how do we set them up for our patrons?
Related Topics are available to those libraries using the Summon 2.0 interface and features.

Related Topics are additional subjects that relate to the Summon Topic displaying at the top of the Topic Explorer pane. In the below example, the Summon Topic is Myocardial Infarction and the Related Topics are Cardiac Arrest, Stroke, and Pulmonary Embolism:

The Topics pane may display other languages (such as Dutch), but the Related Topics appear only in English.
How Related Topics Work
When Summon identifies a relevant topic to display in the Topic Explorer on the right side of the Summon results page, Summon also processes an algorithm to identify relevant topics that may be of interest to the user. A maximum of three related topics will display.
Clicking on a related topic generates a new Summon search. Topics with multiple words generate a phrase search where double quotes are included around the search terms.
