What is WorldCat Spotlighting and how is it enabled on my Summon account?
The WorldCat Spotlighting feature is available to those libraries using the legacy Summon interface. It is currently not available to libraries using the Summon 2.0 interface.
The WorldCat Spotlighting feature gives clients with a WorldCat subscription the ability to display WorldCat Spotlight at the bottom of their first Summon search results page and reflects the search query.
WorldCat display features include:
- WorldCat Spotlight feature only displays at the bottom of the first search page below the results pagination.
- Clicking on a book title in the Related books from other libraries box displays the WorldCat record for the selected title.
- See all books from other libraries link opens a pre-queried search in WorldCat.
Enable WorldCat Spotlighting
For ProQuest to enable WorldCat spotlighting on your account, we need you to send us a WorldCat Search API key. You can obtain a WorldCat Search API key from the WorldCat Search API (Web service).
After you have obtained a WorldCat Search API key, please send us a request to enable WorldCat spotlighting using the Contact Us menu at the top of the Support Center. When submitting the request, include the WorldCat Search API Key with your request.
