Ulrichsweb: Administration Console -- Linking Partners

    • Product: Ulrichs

How do I configure Journal Linking in the Ulrichsweb Administration Console?

This page is part of a larger set of documentation about using the Administration Console to configure your Ulrichsweb service.

The Linking Partners page in the Ulrichsweb: Administration Console allows you to configure outbound journal links at the title level in alternate services and make them available to patrons using Ulrichsweb.
Outbound links to journals are available to mutual subscribers of Ulrichsweb and these services:
    • Journal Citation Reports (JCR Web, latest edition)
    • IngentaConnect
    • ScienceDirect
    • Serials Solutions E-Journal Portal (360 Core E-Journal Portal)
    • OCLC WorldCat
    • Copyright Clearance Center (RightsLink)
Here is the initial Linking Partners page in the Ulrichsweb Administration Console:
    Linking Partners
The page is accessed from the Client Center Home page. In the Manage Your Products section, click on the Ulrichsweb: Administration Console. By default you are taken to the Linking Partners screen.

    Journal Settings

When you are ready to start configuring your linking partners, click Edit in the upper-right corner of the page. To activate one or more linking partners, click the Display checkbox to the right of the service name. After you make changes, click Save, or click Cancel to discard your changes.
One linking partner requires extra information: To activate Copyright Clearance Center, place a check in the Display checkbox to the right of the service name and enter your CCC UserName and CCC Password in the boxes provided.
Services for which you have clicked the Display checkbox will appear in your Ulrichsweb Title Details display above the name of a title. For example, let's say you have chosen to Display OCLC WorldCat outbound links. When a patron conducts a search for a journal in Ulrichsweb (for example, JAMA), the patron will see a WorldCat icon they can click on to search for this title in WorldCat:

Changes to the linking partners configuration will be visible to your Ulrichsweb patrons after you have clicked Save.
