ACQ:Serial History allows single issue collapse

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.2.3

    Description:
    Issue: 16384-15681

    Date: July 14, 2011
    Module: Acquisitions
    Server platform affected: All
Release replicated in: 7.2.3 and replicated in 8.0.0
    Last version without bug: unknown

    Expected results:
The Acquisitions module should not allow collapsing of a single issue.

    Actual results:
The Acquisitions module allows collapsing of a single issue.

    Replication steps:
In Acquisitions, click on Serials History. Retrieve a serials history via Check-In Title or other search. From the Receipt History tab, highlight one of the issues. Click on the Collapse button. The issue is now collapsed, meaning that the 853 and 863 information is automatically placed in to the attached mfhd (holding record) and displays in the OPAC as a bound issue.

Other information: It doesn't make sense to collapse just one issue as the collapse feature is for multiple issues to be bound. There is no warning that you are about to collapse the issue and there is no way to un-collapse.

Workaround: User’s can manually update the mfhd record to remove the 853/863 information and can click on the Display in OPAC button to get the issue to display in the OPAC.

    Resolution:
