BULK: Coredump when copy long 866 from bib to mfhd

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 9.1.0
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct; Direct; Local; Total Care

    Symptoms

When import rule set to copy fields from bib to mfhd and 866 field is greater than ~640 characters, import fails with coredump at that record.

    Defect Status

Issue VYG-6835 is resolved for Voyager 9.2.1 and higher.

    Replication Steps

    1. Create a bulk import rule with
      1. Profiles > Multiple MFHDs > Bibs, MFHDs, multiple Items OR
      2. Profiles > Single MFHD > Bibs, MFHDs, Items (issue occurs for both multi & single mfhd rules)
      3. Profiles > Copy 852-855, 863-878 Fields from Bib to MFHD
    2. Import record with 866 field > 640 characters
    3. Import fails on record with /tmp/Pdobulkimport.{datestamp}.{timestamp}.{PID}: line 2: {PID}: Memory fault(coredump)
    4. Trim the 866 field to 640 characters
    5. Import will complete successfully.

    Workaround

Import records with 866 fields > 640 characters manually in the Cataloging client.
