CAT: copy from Browse Heading Search copies last copy

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 9

    Description:
    Bug Report for Issue 16384-4530 / VYG-4683

    Module: Cataloging
Release(s) - most recent replicated in: Voyager 7.0.3 - happening since Voyager 5
    Server Platform(s) affected: Solaris (all)

Expected Results: After doing a BROWSE Headings search, highlighting one heading and clicking the COPY button, the highlighted heading will paste in any field, in any MARC record.

Actual Results: After doing a BROWSE Headings search, highlighting one heading and clicking the COPY button, the highlighted heading pastes what was previously copied from the clipboard. It seems that the clipboard is not clearing or reading the most currently copied information from Voyager.

Workflow implications: Unable to perform simple copy and paste function.

    Replication steps:

    Open Cataloging
Do a Subject Headings set to Browse search for Education
    Click the Copy button
    Open a bib or auth
F4 to add a new line
Place cursor into the Subfield Data portion
Control v or right click to paste
The heading that you copied correctly is pasted.
    Close the record.
Click on the Headings button to return to the list of headings.
Highlight a different heading and click on Copy.
    Open a bib or auth
F4 to add a new line
Place cursor into the Subfield Data portion
Control v or right click to paste
Information from the last copy / paste (i.e. Education) appears instead in the new field in the bib, and not was copied using the COPY button.

    Resolution:
VYG-4683 is resolved in Voyager 9.0.0 and higher.
