Comparison of command-line options for Voyager .msi and .exe "silent" installation

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.2
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Question

Are the command-line options used with the VoyagerInstall.exe and the VoyagerInstall.msi the same?

    Answer

The .exe and .msi versions of the installer are largely equivalent to each other.  The chief difference is how they are called.  The .exe is typically double-clicked or run from the command-line.  The .msi usually is called by the Windows Installer and used by Windows Systems Administrators to centralize options for deploying software remotely.

The command-line options and parameters are the same for both versions, and are described in Chapter 4 of the Technical User's Guide.
