    Question

How to enable the Voyager Z39.50 Server to send UTF-8 encoded records.

    Answer

By default, the Voyager Z39.50 Server sends MARC-8 encoded records to remote clients that request records via the Z39.50 protocol.

UTF-8 encoded records can also be provided by configuring the Z39.50 Server to handle UTF-8 encoded records on a separate port.

For instructions to implement this separate port configuration, see the Technical User's Guide, Chapter 18.

    Additional Information

Note that after upgrading Voyager you may need to re-implement these configuration changes.
