Question
How can item records be exported from Voyager?
Answer
Although we think of it as such, there isn't a discrete item "record" to be extracted like there is a bib or MFHD record. The item record consists of data that is distributed among multiple Voyager Oracle tables.
- MarcExport will work for any MARC format record (Authority, Bibliographic, Holding).
- Item records are not MARC format; Voyager does not have a utility for exporting item records.
- You can use Prepackaged Reports (Reports.mdb) to query for item data and export it to an external file.
- Item data and item links to BIB and MFHD records are stored in following tables:
ITEM
ITEM_BARCODE
ITEM_STATUS
ITEM_NOTE
ITEM_STATS
MFHD_ITEM
BIB_ITEM
