How can item records be exported from Voyager?

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: All
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Multi-Tenant Direct, Dedicated-Direct, Local, TotalCare

    Question

How can item records be exported from Voyager?

    Answer

Although we think of it as such, there isn't a discrete item "record" to be extracted like there is a bib or MFHD record.  The item record consists of data that is distributed among multiple Voyager Oracle tables.

    • MarcExport will work for any MARC format record (Authority, Bibliographic, Holding).
    • Item records are not MARC format; Voyager does not have a utility for exporting item records.
    • You can use Prepackaged Reports (Reports.mdb) to query for item data and export it  to an external file.
    • Item data and item links to BIB and MFHD records are stored in following tables:

    ITEM
    ITEM_BARCODE
    ITEM_STATUS
    ITEM_NOTE
    ITEM_STATS
    MFHD_ITEM
    BIB_ITEM
