How do we exclude subfield |h of the 245 field for Title search?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.0.1

    Desired Outcome Goal:
We no longer want to index subfield |h of the 245 field for Titles. The only place i see the subfield indexed (in Sys Admin) is the Headings & Left-Anchored Definitions. I cannot edit the subfields there. Is there a recommended workaround?

    Procedure:
Left-anchored and Headings indexes are hard-coded. Index 2451 does not include |h and can be included in TALL:
    1. SysAdmin > Search > Indexes - Composite Definitions
    2. Highlight TALL > Edit. (TALL index is set of left-anchored title indexes)
    3. Definitions > Move "Title Statement: Title <" from Available to Selected column.
    4. Save changes.
You should now be able to search for titles with or without GMD (245 |h).

    Additional Information

You can rename left-anchored indexes, so if you do not find the index mentioned in step #3, look for the index code 2451 in SysAdmin Search > Indexes - Headings & Left-Anchored to find the name of the index with that code.
