How does Bi-Directional Merge work?

Answer

Bi-Directional Merge determines whether to keep the incoming or existing record when a match is found, and merges fiels from the lower quality record into the higher quality record. 

• If the incoming record is higher quality than existing record (according to Quality Hierarchy): merge fields from the existing record are added to the incoming record, and the incoming record replaces the existing record. This is the same as Merge duplicate handling.
• If the incoming record is lower quality than existing record (according to Quality Hierarchy): merge fields from the incoming record are added to the existing record, and the incoming record is discarded.
