    Question

How does Duplicate Warn/Replace in Bibliographic or Authority Duplicate Detection work?

    Answer

In System Administration > Cataloging > Bibliographic or Authority Duplicate Detection Profiles the following hold true:

    1. 'Duplicate Replace=' is the level at or above which a single matching record may be automatically replaced or merged. If there is more than one matching record above this level, the matching record IDs are logged instead.
    2. 'Duplicate Warn=' is the level at or above which the system warns the user of matches that are close but that should be reviewed.

See Additional Information below for details on how this differs in Bulkimport and Cataloging.
