    Question

    In Voyager Circulation Self Check, when the CircSc.ini file is set to "AllowExit=0", how to exit the module?

    [General]
    ResetTime=10
    AllowExit=0
    CaptionStyle=1
    CaptionFontName=MS Sans Serif
    CaptionFontBold=1
    CaptionFontItalic=1
    CaptionFontSize=24
    ...

    Answer

    The Voyager Circulation Self Check module has been designed to operate in a kiosk-style environment, where users are strongly discouraged from doing other things on the computer. Thus, this module cannot be exited in traditional ways such as using Alt-F4 or Ctrl-W.

    Depending on how Windows is configured, Ctrl-Alt-Del may work to open up Task Manager.  The Windows key may bring up Task Manager as well.

    If you want to disable even those means of exit, there are third party products that can be investigated, and possibly Windows Registry settings that can be modified.
