    Question

Is the "S" really uppercase when using ls flag for sort by size? i.e., ls -S

    Answer

Yes, the S is capitalized for the -S flag (list by size) for the ls command. Linux commands and flags are case sensitive, and lowercase "s" is a different flag for the ls command.
