    Is there a way to add a Call Number option to the post-search "Sort By" dropdown box in Voyager WebVoyage?

    Question

    Is there a way to add a Call Number sort option to the re-sort results dropdown in the Voyager Tomcat WebVoyage OPAC?

    Answer

    It is not possible to add Call Number sort (or any other type of sort) to the post-search "Sort By" dropdown box that you see in the above image.

    The results are a de-duped list of bibliographic records, and those sort attributes are a purposefully short list due to the way the post-search sort is implemented in Voyager.

    Reference the various page.searchResults.sort settings in /m1/voyager/xxxdb/tomcat/vwebv/context/vwebv/ui/YOUR_SKIN/webvoyage.properties for options.

    A possible workaround would be to implement the Call Number Browse search, which returns records in call number order.  The downside of this workaround is that location and availability do not display in the search results.
