    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.2.1

    Symptoms

–aM switch in marcexport (export records in MARC21) produces core and/or bus error and stops when encounters record with unparseable characters.

    Defect Status

Issue VYG-4486 is currently in Development.

    Replication Steps

    1. SSH to server as voyager user
    2. cd /m1/voyager/xxxdb/sbin
    3. Pmarcexport -aM -rB -mR -t651090-651090

    Record Type: BIB
Export Mode: Range of MARC IDs
    Export Target: 651090-651090

    (# = 100 records)
    EXPORTING...

    ERROR Record 651090 translation error=[19]-700 : 8->16 illegal sequence in 8->16 at 6 'a3616820 .ah '

Failed to reassemble bib record: 651090

    #...COMPLETED

Records written to Output File: 0

If you are doing a large export and it hits the record, it will stop exporting and sometimes produce a core file.

    Workaround

Fix diacritics manually in Cataloging, then export.
