Saving in Cataloging produces "xxx field is not defined in your tag table."

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.0

    Problem Symptoms

    • Saving in Cataloging produces "xxx field is not defined in your tag table."
    • Record is not updated.
    • Options -> Preferences -> Validation -> Bypass MARC validation is not checked.

    Cause

Tag tables need to be customized or updated.

    Resolution

Update tag tables in C:/Voyager/Catalog/TagTable directory on PC to include non-validated MARC field(s).

    Additional Information

See How do I update tag tables? and Cataloging Users' Guide, Appendix A, "MARC tag tables."

Note that you can opt to choose to totally bypass MARC validation by checking the checkbox in Options -> Preferences -> Validation -> Bypass MARC Validation in the Cataloging Client.

Some customers who inform us that their tag tables are fine, have solved this issue by restarting their workstation.
