Bug Report Form for Issue 16384-5986
Release(s) replicated in: reported in 7.0.3/4, replicated in 7.1.0
Server Platform(s) affected: Solaris/all
PC O/S (if this is PC specific): n/a
Browser type & version (if WebVoyage): n/a
Expected Results: Operators should be able to cancel a patron’s request from the pickup library or through WebVoyage even if the item is in a status of On Hold (has been discharged to hold shelf at pickup library).
Actual Results: If you go to the home patrons Hold/Recall requests screen and cancel a request in the Items Available for pickup section, the request seems to cancel, but will appear again when you bring up the screen a second time. In the patron’s info page in WebVoyage, the request doesn’t disappear when you’ve checked the box and hit Cancel.
Workflow Implications: Request can only be cancelled by calling the holding library and requesting that operators there cancel the hold.
Create patron in db A.
Log into WebVoyage, search db B and place a request for an item.
Process the call slip in db B.
Discharge the item to the hold shelf in db A.
In db A, go to the patron record’s Hold/Recall Information screen.
In the Items Available for Pickup section, highlight this request and hit Cancel – it will appear to cancel.
Close this screen – you’ll see that the available items counter hasn’t decremented.
Open the Hold/Recall Information screen again – you’ll see the request appear there again.
If you view this patron’s information in WebVoyage, click the box next to this request and hit Cancel Request, the screen will refresh and the request will still be there, uncancelled.
Other information: In 7.1, you can cancel the request by bringing up the item details in Circulation in the holding db, going to the Request Maintenance screen and cancelling the hold there. Site reports that this does *not* work in 7.0.3 and 7.0.4.
