    Question

Chapter 2 of the Voyager Index Changes document states "it is important that you only modify the subfields to be indexed in the Index Rules and leave all other fields as they are defined in the worksheet." If the index type is "C," Composite Index, is it acceptable the edit the list of index codes listed in the Index Rules column?

    Answer

Yes. In the case of a Composite Index, the list of search indexes the Composite Index using is, for the purposes of resolving SEARCHPARM conflicts, the equivalent of the list of subfields for a Bibliographic Left-Anchored Index.
