Voyager client logins handle passwords inconsistently :10 characters

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.2.2

    Problem Symptoms:
?€¢ Across clients, passwords longer than the 9 character limit are handled differently.
?€¢ Staff believe they have created a password longer than 9 characters in length in SysAdmin, but password is actually truncated.
?€¢ Password can be used to log into some clients, but not others, causing confusion.

    Cause:
This behavior is a result of Issue VYG-5103.

    Resolution:
Issue VYG-5103 is fixed in the Voyager.dll for 7.2.4.

    Additional Information

While the SysAdmin User?€™s Guide does indicate the max characters for a password is 9, the data dictionary indicates the field limit is 12. These are both correct in that the system requires extra characters for encryption.
