WEBV: no bib format icons for remote titles

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.1

    Description:
Bug Report Form for Issue 16384-7153
    Module(s): WebVoyage
    Server platform(s) affected: Solaris
Browser & version (if applicable): IE 7, FF2

    Release(s) replicated in: Voy 7.1.0

    Expected results:
Bib Format icons should always display when a bib of the particular type is in a result list.

    Actual results:
Bib Format icons do not display when a bib record of the particular type from a remote database is in a result set.

Workflow implications: If a remote library and the local library are searched at the same time, only the bibs from the Local database display an icon in the Titles list. This doesn’t look very nice.

    Replication steps:
    1. In WebVoyage session, select a remote Voyager database to search.
    2. Perform a search in the remote database.
    3. Titles listed from the remote database do not have a Bib Format icon shown. (ie. books should have an open book, and videos should have a video camera, etc.)

    Other information:
While XML does appear to look for the Bib Format, it doesn’t retrieve it:
    <page:element nameId="page.searchResults.item.type.bibFormat" xsi:type="page:labelType">
    <page:label></page:label>
    <page:value></page:value>
    <page:postText></page:postText>

    Resolution:
Fixed in the OPAC server and WebVoyage for 8.1.1.
