WEBV: Editing the “WebVoyage System Error” page

    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 7.0.1

    Question

How do I edit the “WebVoyage System Error” page for WebVoyage?

    Answer

When WebVoyage for Voyager 7 encounters an error (usually when the XSL on a page is invalid or misconfigured), it will automatically direct users to a page that (by default) reads:

An unexpected system error has occurred. Please report this error to your library.
We regret the inconvenience. This page will redirect to the system start page shortly.

This is a static HTML page that is used as the error page for all skins. You can edit it to change that message, the redirect location, or the amount of time it waits before redirecting. The file is available at /m1/voyager/xxxdb/tomcat/vwebv/context/vwebv/error_500.html

To change either the timing or location of the redirect, edit the following line: <META http-equiv="Refresh" content="10;URL=http://localhost:7008/vwebv"/>

In the content= attribute, the number is the number of seconds the page will wait before redirecting (10 by default), and the URL is the target of the redirect.
