What's this item.delete file in the /rpt directory?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 6.5.3

    Description:
What's this item.delete file in the /rpt directory?
Are item records stored somewhere after they have been deleted?

    Resolution:
There is an Item Audit File. The Item Audit File enables key pieces of item record
information to be automatically archived in a log file called item.delete upon the deletion of the item records from the Voyager
staff modules (Cataloging, Circulation, and Acquisitions). The item.delete log file will be found in the /m1/voyager/xxxdb/rpt
directory once item records have been deleted from a database. The created item.delete log
file is a comma-delimited file, which facilitates import into third party software such as Microsoft Excel or Access. This file can
then be used by Library staff to prepare reports and statistics. See the Technical User's Guide for the Item Delete Standard Interface File (Item Delete SIF).
