Description:
What are the functional implications of the Order > Site field on PO's (Purchase Orders) with regards to printing?
Resolution:
The PO's Order Location will define the Print Location Code of the inp file that is generated when the PO is queued to print, or when the line item is claimed, canceled or returned.
For example:
The Order Location on a PO is the Acquisitions location.
In SysAdmin, under the Acq Policy Definitions, the Acquisitions > Location has its Default Print Location set to Acquisitions Desk and the Print Location Code for that Print Location is Acq.
Since the Order Location on the PO is set to Acquisitions, it is pointing to this policy and therefore the Print Location Code of Acq will be in the inp file on the server when the PO is queued to print or when claims, cancels and returns are generated.
Please note that once a PO is saved, the Order Location cannot be changed.
