media: can't assign a media type for item if searching by other than bc

Assigning a media type to a booking via a title or call number search

What currently happens when we look up an item (without a media type) via the search
button is that we get the message, "No media type assigned to item. Item not eligible for
booking." It would be nice if we had the option to add a media type at this point. We are
currently able to do so when we add by barcode.

In cases where the item to be booked is physically unavailable, we currently need to switch to
circulation and assign the media type there if we don't know the barcode. This extra step cost
staff time and prolongs how long it takes to create a booking.

In libraries where the media type is assigned to an item just before it is booked, being able to
assign a media type via the search button would streamline workflow, especially in cases where
the staff person did not have ready access to the item.

This worked in 2001.1. It no longer works in 2001.2 or Unicode
