360 KB: Brill Online Database: Database Name Change and URL Domain Change -- Jan. 2012

    • Product: 360 KB

What is happening to the database name and URL linking syntax for the Brill Online database?

The provider Brill is moving to a new online platform and has begun the process of incrementally rolling out database- and title-level linking syntax changes for all of their online databases.

Therefore, we will be correcting the database name and changing the database- and title-level linking syntax URLs for Brill Online in the 360 KB knowledgebase. The content of the database will remain the same.

This change will take effect on Jan. 30, 2012.

    Before Jan. 30: Brill Online -- http://www.brillonline.nl

After Jan. 30: Brill Online Reference Works -- http://referenceworks.brillonline.co...nt/collections

Actions you may need to take:

    • Make sure that either http://referenceworks.brillonline.com or *.brillonline.com is included in your proxy configuration before Jan. 30.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name or direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after Jan. 30.
    • If your library uses a third-party ERM service (such as SFX, EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-Serials Solutions tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in Serials Solutions' database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
