360 KB: JBI COnNECT and JBI COnNECT databases from provider Joanna Briggs Institute: Database Migration and Titles Will Be Removed -- Nov. 2014

    • Product: 360 KB

What is happening to the JBI COnNECT and JBI COnNECT+ databases?

    1. Database Migration

ProQuest currently has title-level information for the JBI COnNECT hidden database from provider Joanna Briggs Institute in the 360 KB knowledgebase. Past subscribers are the only ones who can see hidden databases.

This database and its linking are now obsolete, and have been replaced by the JBI COnNECT+ database.  In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the 360 KB collection policy), all titles will be removed from the JBI COnNECT database in 360 KB on Nov. 17, 2014. The database will become a zero-titles database. (NOTE: The database code for this database is LGA.)

This change will take effect on Nov. 17, 2014:

Before Nov. 17, 2014: JBI COnNECT, database code LGA
        After Nov. 17, 2014: JBI COnNECT+, database code E9A

Please note that due to content changes with the provider, the JBI COnNECT+ database will consist of only one title after Nov. 17, 2014. See item number 2 below for details.

Actions you may need to take:

    •   Update your Data Management by subscribing to the new database instead of the old database.  Information is available here regarding how to update Data Management, and 360 Resource Manager and 360 Counter considerations prior to removing the old database from your profile.
    •    If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after Nov. 17, 2014.

    2. Subset of Titles Removal in the JBI COnNECT+ Database

The provider Joanna Briggs Institute no longer offers access to the majority of their content in Journal format in the JBI COnNECT+ database.

Therefore, ProQuest will remove most Journal titles from the JBI COnNECT+ database in the 360 KB knowledgebase. Out of the titles currently tracked in the JBI COnNECT+ database, only the “JBI Library of Systematic Reviews” (ISSN 1838-2142) will remain in the collection. The database will become a single-title database.

This change will take effect on Nov. 17, 2014.

Actions you may need to take:

    •    If you are a 360 Resource Manager or 360 Counter client, you may need to make some changes before Nov. 17, 2014.
    •    If you are a 360 MARC Updates client, you can expect to see delete records when you get your MARC records after Nov. 17, 2014.
