What is happening to the databases for Left Coast Press?

ProQuest currently has title-level information for the Left Coast Press databases from providers MetaPress and Left Coast Press in the 360 KB knowledgebase. University of California Press now publishes the two journals from Left Coast Press, which was formerly hosted on the MetaPress platform.

In order to maintain accurate and authoritative provider metadata (based on the 360 KB collection policy, all titles will be removed from Left Coast Press databases and the databases will be hidden in 360 KB. As the titles have already moved to the University of California Press platform, the migration will be effective immediately: October 7.

Before October 7: Left Coast Press, Inc. [DBID: MLC] from provider MetaPress AND Left Coast Press, Inc. [DBID: MBZ] from provider Left Coast Press, Inc.

Subscribe to this database after October 7: University of California Press Journals [DBID: RCL]

    Action you need to take:

    • Once the above change takes effect, update your Data Management by subscribing to the new database instead of the old database.  Information is available here regarding how to update Data Management, and 360 Resource Manager and 360 Counter considerations prior to removing the old database from your profile.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs or database specific information to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after October 7.
