What is happening to the names of legacy Wiley-Blackwell Journals databases?

The legacy Wiley-Blackwell Full Collection (WIH), Wiley-Blackwell Social Science and Humanities Collection (WII), Wiley-Blackwell Medicine & Nursing Collection (WIJ), and Wiley-Blackwell Science, Technology and Medicine Collection (WIK) are named inaccurately. We have been working with the provider in order to standardize our database naming to match their naming guide and their authoritative collection names, reflecting the Wiley Online Library platform and branding.

As part of renaming these databases to their correct names and to eliminate any confusion as to the nature of their content, we are also changing the names of these databases to incorporate and reflect the last year of their updates, 2016.

The contents of the databases will be updated one final time to reflect Wiley's updated URL syntax. Please note that after June 25 these databases will no longer be updated.

For subscribed clients who are entitled to the 2017 and subsequent annual holdings, please refer to this page for a list of the correct databases to track.

This change will take effect on June 25, 2018:

Database Code Database name before June 25, 2018 Database name after June 25, 2018
WIH Wiley-Blackwell Full Collection Wiley Online Library Full Collection 2016
WII Wiley-Blackwell Social Science and Humanities Collection Wiley Online Library Social Science and Humanities Collection 2016
WIJ Wiley-Blackwell Medicine & Nursing Collection Wiley Online Library Medicine & Nursing Collection 2016
WIK Wiley-Blackwell Science, Technology and Medicine Collection Wiley Online Library Science, Technology and Medicine Collection 2016
WYJ Wiley-Blackwell Journals "Not In Any Collection" Wiley Online Library Journals "Not In Any Collection" 2016

Actions you may need to take:

  • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after June 25, 2018.
  • If your library uses a third-party service (such as EBSCO A-Z, etc.), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
