360 KB: SAE Digital Library from SAE International: Database Name Change -- September 2016

What is happening to the name of database SAE Digital Library?

The provider SAE International has changed the name of SAE Digital Library, database code SAF.

Therefore, we will be changing the name in the Knowledgebase.  The content of the database, and the database ID (SAF), will remain the same, however the URL linking syntax will change.

This change will take effect of Sep. 29, 2016:

Before September 29: SAE Digital Library with linking syntax http://digitallibrary.sae.org

After September 29: SAE Mobilus with linking syntax https://saemobilus.sae.org/

Actions you may need to take:

    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds the database name as it appears in the Client Center/Intota to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after September 29.
    • If your library uses a third-party service (such as SFX, EBSCO A-Z, etc), custom scripts to manage data, or other non-ProQuest tools that require the database name to function, you should note the change in ProQuest's database name in order to retain the proper relationship/mapping between those tools.
    • Make sure that either https://saemobilus.sae.org/ or *.sae.org/ is included in your proxy configuration before September 29.
    • If you are a 360 MARC Updates client and have requested the custom specification that adds direct URLs to MARC records, you can expect to see some change records when you get your MARC records after September 29.
