    Why does the number of MARC records that I have not match the Client Center unique title count?

    The MARC record count reflects the number of unique authority titles. The Total Unique Title count on the Data Summary page (accessed from the Client Center's Data Summary link) is a literal "unique title" count. This count does not recognize two authority alternate titles as one title; every variation of a title's text is counted as a separate title.
    For example:
    Accountant (London) ssj0011612, 1 record, 2 unique titles
    Thomson Gale :: Business & Industry :: ACCOUNTANT
    Thomson Gale :: Academic OneFile :: ACCOUNTANT
    Thomson Gale :: Business & Company Resource Center :: ACCOUNTANT
    Thomson Gale :: TableBase :: ACCOUNTANT
    OCLC :: Contemporary Women's Issues :: ACCOUNTANT
    LexisNexis :: LexisNexis Academic :: ACCOUNTANT
    Factiva :: Factiva :: Accountant (U.K.)
    People (Chicago. 1974) ssj0000250. 1 record, 2 unique titles
    Thomson Gale :: Academic OneFile :: People weekly
    Thomson Gale :: InfoTrac OneFile :: People (Chicago. 1974)
    Thomson Gale :: General Reference Center Gold :: People (Chicago. 1974)
    H.W. Wilson :: Readers' Guide Full Text Mega Edition :: People weekly
    EBSCOhost :: Academic Search Premier :: People (Chicago. 1974)
    To find the provider variants in the Client Center, search the e-Catalog for a journal title such as those listed above. Click on the title from the search results page.
    Once you click on the title, you are on the authority journal level:
    Authority Journal-Level
    If you click on the available dates for the titles that you subscribe to, you will be taken to the holdings-level page. You will notice that the titles on the navigation bar can vary from holding to holding. (The examples below are from items 1 and 3 in the screenshot above):
    Title Example 1
    Title Example 2
    We are aware that this is a confusing distinction. We are reviewing how these record counts are totaled. Please let us know if you have further questions by clicking on the Support Portal option near the top of this page.
