360 Search: Custom Search Boxes -- Proxy Prefix

    • Product: 360 Search

How does our library's proxy prefix need to be formed when used in a 360 Search custom search box?

When you are creating a Custom Search Box for 360 Search, if you use a proxy service and would like the generated html for your search box to include a login step for your patrons, you will need to enter the proxy prefix in the Administration Console:
Add Custom Search Box -- Step 1
Your proxy may not require a prefix, or you may choose not to add one to your custom search box. But if you do want to add it, certain proxy systems require particular prefixes, as shown below.
Libraries using 360 Access Control should use the following form:
    http://[CLIENT ID]
as found in the Client Center > Manage Your Library > Library Settings > Library URLs > Proxy URL field. (If you don't know your Client ID, see this document.)
Libraries using EZproxy should change the EZproxy URL syntax from:
(For the search form to operate properly, EZproxy requires that the "login?URL" is changed to "form?qurl").
Libraries using Innovative Interfaces (III) WAM: Please read these instructions for setting up Innovative Interfaces (III) WAM for 360 Search and custom search boxes.
