360 Search: Administration Console -- Database Settings -- Database Display Order

    • Product: 360 Search

How do I change the database display order in the 360 Search Administration Console?

This page is part of a larger set of documentation about using the Administration Console to configure your 360 Search.

The Database Display Order page in the 360 Search Administration Console allows you set the database display order on your 360 Search patron interface. By default, 360 Search will display your databases in alphabetical order, using the first letter in the database name. However, we recognize that you may prefer to change the display order for your databases, perhaps listing popular databases or your library's catalog (OPAC) higher in the list to encourage your patrons to use these resources more often. In addition, this database display order will appear in any subject categories or subcategories you've created.
If your library is a member of a Consortium, and the Consortium has already shared Database Settings to your library, you will have very limited ability to edit any database settings. You may want to work with your Consortium to have them remove their sharing so that you may fully edit database settings.
To change the database display order, start at the Database Settings page in the Administration Console, and then click Database Display Order. You will then see the Database Display Order page:

When you are ready to start changing your database order, click Edit in the upper-right corner of the page. After you make changes, click Save, or click Cancel to discard your changes.
If you click Reset to Default

, the databases will change to alphabetical order.
Changes to the database order of 360 Search will not be visible to your library's patrons until the next day; to see how your changes will look without having to wait, click Preview.

The quickest way to change the display order of the databases is to "click and drag": Click on a database name, and then drag the name up or down the list to the position in which you want it to appear.
If it is difficult to click and drag a database name (for instance, if you're moving it a long way in the list), then click on the database's number in the Order column. When this field becomes editable, type in the number of the position you want to move the database to, then type the Enter key. You will see a red triangle in the corner of the number, indicating it has been changed:

When you're done changing numbers, click Save. The databases with changed order numbers will move to their new positions, and all the other databases will re-sort based on those changes:
