How do I configure the Results Page in the 360 Search Administration Console?
This page is part of a larger set of documentation about using the Administration Console to configure your 360 Search.
The Results Page Options in the Administration Console allows you to define the placement of page elements on the 360 Search results page, including the Sort and Filter Controls, the location of the Toolbox and Results By Source summary on the page, and the behavior of Thumbnail images.
If your library is a member of a Consortium, and the Consortium has already shared Results Page Options to your library, this section will not be editable. You may want to work with your Consortium to have them remove their sharing so that you may edit this page.
Here is the initial view of the Results Page Options screen:
When you are ready to start configuring your results page, click Edit in the upper-right corner of the page. After you make changes, click Save, or click Cancel to discard your changes.
Changes to the results page of your 360 Search will not be visible to patrons until the next day; to see how your changes will look without having to wait, click Preview.
Sort Controls Placement
The Sort controls available in 360 Search allow your patrons to sort the result citation list by Date, Author, Title, and Source (database). By default these controls are displayed within the Toolbox along with the Filter controls, but many libraries choose to display them horizontally ("center") above the Results By Source summary. Here are examples of each placement strategy:

Filter Controls Placement
The Filter controls available in 360 Search allow your patrons to filter the result citation list by Full Text and/or Peer Reviewed status. By default these controls are displayed within the Toolbox along with the Sort controls, but many libraries choose to display them horizontally above the Results By Source Summary. Here are examples of each placement strategy:
Filter controls in the toolbox (default):
Filter controls in the center:
The Toolbox will control the placement of the Sort Controls, the Filter Controls, and the "Results by Source" placement if one or more have been set to display in the Toolbox rather than in the center position. The Toolbox will also control the placement of the Clustered Results. (If all three controls are set to display in the center, then the Toolbox Placement setting will control only the placement of the Clustered Results.)
The toolbox may be displayed to the left (by default) or the right of the results citation list. In the examples above, the Toolbox is on the left side.
Many citations will have thumbnail images available, particularly books and other catalog entries. If you would like thumbnail images to be included wherever possible in the result citations, click the Show Thumbnails check box.
Here is an example of a thumbnail image on a search result:
The Thumbnail Placement control allows you to specify that thumbnail images, when present in result citations, be shown either to the left or right of the citation. You may want to experiment with this setting, as various branding options may make the placement of thumbnail images more attractive or practical on one side of the citation information.
"Results By Source" Placement
In addition to the citation list and the results filtering tools, your 360 Search results page also includes a summary of results delivered by source (database):
You may choose to display this summary information centered above the results citation list (by default), or placed along the side with the sort- and filter-controls toolbox (as shown in the example above).
