There is currently no way to report on the valuable information stored in the PO Line Notes from Alma.

Users want to add their PO Line notes to their reports. Valuable information is stored in the field.

    Use Case:

When BC cancels a longtime subscription, they set the PO Line Status to Closed and put the cancelation reason in a PO Line Note field.

BC staff wants the ability to report on when a serial was canceled (date) and why it was canceled (reason in PO Line Note). This helps them make better collection development decisions, such as, was the subscription canceled due to lack of funds or were there issues with the publisher?

This is how BC was trained to do it by Ex Libris staff.  They said to only set the status to Canceled if there were errors with the order.

Update from Ex Libris 17 Oct 2019:

Notes in Alma which are of type "unlimited length" and "unlimited amount" cannot be added to Alma Analytics.

This includes the PO Line Notes.

Specific notes which have a limited size and amount can be added to Alma Analytics, for example as has already been done for:

    status: open
    priority: medium
    subject area: general; acquisitions
