The Display Name needs to be used in analytics report properties whenever possible instead of the Display ID within the institution (not in Benchmark Analytics or other public display).

The IDs are long meaningless numbers to users and don’t provide any meaningful information as users don’t know what names the IDs refer to.

Ex Libris Response (19 Mar 2019):  Because of GDPR, Ex Libris CAN NOT identify institutions or users in Benchmark Analytics.

There is a possibility to add user names in some places because each institution can run the user anonymization job and remove them as needed.

Margaret and Yoel will look for specific examples.

    Use Cases:

    • In report audit trails and brief information please use the ‘Owner Name’ from ‘My Account’ information rather than the ‘Owner ID’. The Owner ID is meaningless to users so it’s hard to tell who last modified a report.
    • Institution Name vs. Institution ID. Users do not know what the Institution IDs are so displaying them is meaningless (such as in Benchmark Analytics). Ex Libris cannot add institution names to Benchmark Analytics.
    • Academic Department Code is included in Alma analytics but Academic Department Description is not. This has been fixed.
