Rollout Schedule
The new layout will be rolled out in the following stages:
- May release – The previous version of the layout is displayed by default, but you can configure Alma Analytics to display the new version.
- August release – The new version of the layout is displayed by default, but you can configure Alma Analytics to display the previous version.
- November release – The new version of the layout is the only version available.
Known Issues with Report Scheduling
There are several known issues regarding scheduling reports when moving to the analytics new layout, especially if you move back and forth from the new version to the old or if some staff members are using the new layout and others the old layout.
Issue | Resolution | Planned Fix Date |
---|---|---|
Any scheduling information displayed in the old layout after you toggle the Schedule Report option in the new layout is irrelevant and is not valid. This applies to anyone who views the report in the old layout, including staff members that never implemented the new layout. | The scheduling information displayed in the old layout after you toggle the Schedule Report option in the new layout will just be Scheduled in the new UI (see Scheduled in Old/New Layout Indication). Additionally, users will be blocked from making scheduling changes in the old layout to objects scheduled in the layout. | May Release |
Toggling the Schedule Report option deletes the current schedule permanently. You must reschedule the report or it will run according the default of every 6 hours. | Interim resolution: Toggling the Schedule Report option sets every Monday at 9:00 by default. | May Release |
Toggling the Schedule Report option maintains the original scheduling. | June Release | |
The time is not displayed for the Object created on and Object modified on fields. | The time will be displayed for these fields in the Full View. | July Release |
When a report scheduled in the old layout is modified in the new, the Object Modified By field is not updated in the old layout. | Not scheduled for resolution. | N/A |
Scheduled in Old/New Layout Indication
If you schedule a report in one version of the Analytics Objects List, an indication appears in the other version that the report was scheduled:
- In the old layout, there is a new column that indicates that the report is scheduled in the new layout:
Scheduled in the New Layout
- In the new layout, the text indicates that the report was scheduled in the old layout, and the scheduling information appears:
Scheduled in the Old Layout
In addition, in the new layout, you can subscribe to a report scheduled in the old layout by toggling Subscribe to the analytics object.
New Functionality for Monitoring Scheduled Report Jobs with New Layout
The functionality for monitoring scheduled report jobs has changed with the new analytics layout. With the old layout, one scheduled job appeared on the Monitoring Jobs page (Admin > Manage Jobs and Sets > Monitor Jobs) for all the reports scheduled for the same day and time. To see the individual reports that were scheduled, it was necessary to select the job. Now, with the new layout, each scheduled report job is listed separately with the name of the report on the Monitor Jobs page.
Alma Analytics Enhancements for New Layout
The Analytics Objects subject area will be enhanced with the features of the new analytics layout for the September release.
Best Practice Tips
The following best practice tips are recommended:
- All staff members of an institution should implement the new Analytics layout at the same time.
- It is recommended to schedule reports exclusively in the new layout.
- After you toggle Schedule Report in the new layout, make sure to immediately set the time and recurrence you want.
- Make sure to tell your Analytics administration colleagues when you schedule reports in the new layout.
- When scheduling, remember that as a default in case of a contradiction between the old layout and the new layout, the scheduling will work according to the new layout.
