Overview
Alma Digital provides a rich and flexible set of workflows for managing an institution’s digital repository - from deposit and cataloging to delivery and publishing.
Specto
Ex Libris is launching a major multi-year project to create Specto, a unified digital asset management solution that offers a new level of interaction with special collections.
Specto will use an AI Metadata Assistant to automatically extract, identify and analyze information from digital assets. Specto will leverage advanced technologies to create connections between assets. The automatic processing will optimize staff time efficiently and provide patrons with a rich world of data which was never available to them previously.
Specto will also introduce a state-of-art exhibition builder for special collections, and will also be expandable to include a complete digital preservation solution for long-term access.
Upon the launch of Specto, all current Alma Digital customers will be automatically transitioned to the Specto starter solution, which encompasses all the functionalities of Alma Digital and additional features, with the opportunity to upgrade to the advanced Specto solution.
Preservation
Ex Libris is building an advanced digital preservation solution, offering comprehensive and cutting-edge services for guaranteeing perpetual access to digital collections. The solution will be available to the community in early 2025 and will serve as an optional, integrated addition to Specto once Specto becomes available to the community. The digital preservation workflows will be based on community expertise combined with the Ex Libris cloud platform technologies, in order to provide a secure, reliable and scalable solution.

Alma Digital working group - NERS and Ideas Exchange
The Alma Digital working group is dedicated to developing and implementing a solution aimed at enhancing digital experiences for customers. In the longer term, the community's expertise and impact will serve the next-gen Specto solution, described above.
A dedicated Ideas Exchange forum and NERS voting pool will allow customers and Ex Libris to design the product roadmap according to the community needs.
