    August Sneak Preview

The features below are currently planned for the next release. However, some of these features may, for various reasons, not be included in this month's release, but rather in a future Alma release.

    Resource Management

    • Support partial unique barcodes in SIP2 - A network that is using network level unique item barcodes will be able to use self check machines to checkin/out items at the item’s home institution.
    • Physical Item Search - Library facet will prefer the ‘Physically At’ library – On the results screen of a physical item search, the staff user’s ‘Physically At’ library will display first when clicking on the faceted list of libraries, making it easier for the user to focus on this library’s holdings.

    • In All Titles search – display of library holdings – when searching ‘All Titles’, and viewing the physical inventory of the title, the holdings of the staff user’s ‘Physically At’ library will display first.

    Administration and Infrastructure

Support ability to share email/printout customizations - part 2 - A new sharing and contribution capability will be available for email and letter templates. This will allow institutions to share their customized templates or use what others have contributed, saving them time and effort.

    Analytics

New field in the shared "bibliographic details" folder - "Electronic location and note field exists" This new addition to the Title Subject Area will allow users to more easily report on titles that have URLs and notes (856 field).

    API

Create or update user API with "Proxy For" users - The User API will be enhanced to support the 'Proxy For' segments in the User Record.

    DARA

DARA Recommendations on jobs that stopped working - A new DARA recommendation will help identify cases where the SIS automated loading may not be working correctly. This will help ensure that this important feed stays operational as much as possible.

    Digital

Waitlist Management for Controlled Digital Lending - Patrons can join a waitlist for accessing digital resources which are limited to a max number of concurrent users. Administrators can define waitlist activity hours, number of max concurrent users and the session period.
