June Sneak Preview
The features below are currently planned for the next release. However, some of these features may, for various reasons, not be included in this month's release, but rather in a future Alma release.
Acquisitions
- Option to manage the High-Level price for PO Lines and Invoices at the library level - The existing option to add an alert to PO lines/Invoices which has an amount greater than the amount configured by the institution will be enhanced to allow this definition on a specific library level. This will allow institutions a more granular setup when deciding on PO lines/Invoice threshold amount.
- New PO line type – Digital PO line - Institutions working with digital representations will be able to use a new type of PO line in order to associate a digital representation to an order. The new Digital PO line type will support both "One-Time" and "Continuous" (subscription) orders.
Resource Management
- General publishing profile - include authority non preferred headings - The general publishing profiles can be configured to include the non-preferred heading of the authority records the bibliographic records are associated with.
Fulfillment
- Request type indication on loan block - The exact type of conflicting request that is blocking a loan action will be indicated on the loan block message.
Administration
- Enable all users to manage their sets - Starting in June all users will be able to manage and use sets according to their role privileges.
DARA
- Ability to assign specific staff users specific DARA - DARA will be enhanced in the next release, allowing you to assign specific recommendations to specific users if you need to so, improving efficiencies and workflows in your organization.
API
- Fund Management APIs - The Acquisitions APIs will be enhanced with a full set of management APIs for Funds – supporting the ability to create, update and delete funds via APIs. This will support more advanced integrations between Alma and institutional Finance systems after this release.
Analytics
- New Reports for Consortia - Six new reports for consortia have been added as default reports to Alma Analytics.
These reports can aid the institution in evaluating overlap as well as unique titles across the consortia. The reports are located in folder "/shared/Alma/Consortia/Reports" and are as follows:- "Titles with inventory in only one institution based on field 035 subfield a with library and location" = This report retrieves titles held by only one institution in the consortia. The analysis uses the field 035 subfield a as a basis for determining the uniqueness of the title. This report is designed to be run in the network zone.
- "Duplicate electronic collections in different member institutions linked to CZ: = This is a list of electronic collections which have been activated via the CZ from multiple member institutions. The electronic collections have not been activated from the network zone using the available functionality and therefore cause many duplicate titles across the member institutions.
- "Duplicate titles by ISBN for NETWORK institution" = This report retrieves duplicate titles by field ISBN in a network zone institution and excludes titles linked to the CZ. This report is designed to be run in the network zone.
- "Duplicate titles by ISSN for NETWORK institution" = This report retrieves duplicate titles by field ISSN in a network zone institution and excludes titles linked to the CZ. This report is designed to be run in the network zone.
- "Duplicate titles by Title Author Combined and Normalized for NETWORK institution" = This report retrieves duplicate titles by field Title Author Combined and Normalized in a network zone institution and excludes titles linked to the CZ. This report is designed to be run in the network zone.
- "Duplicate titles by 035a for network institution = This is a list of titles that exist in the network zone institution and are duplicate titles. The records are determined to be duplicates based on the 035 field subfield a.
