    May Sneak Preview

The features below are currently planned for the next release. However, some of these features may, for various reasons, not be included in this month's release, but rather in a future Alma release.

    Digital Resource Management

IIIF for non-image files - IIIF framework and the Universal Viewer will be upgraded to support the display of PDF and audio-visual files, in addition to the existing support for image formats.

    Resource Management

    • Export Bibliographic and Portfolios - Includes Network Zone Resources - Members of consortia will be able to include in the export processes resources that are managed on their behalf in the Network Zone. This applies to bibliographic records and portfolios.
    • (NERS 7177, 7350) - Set Unavailable Physical Items Process Types - It will be possible to add and remove custom process types from sets of items using work order types, as well as search by them and use them to exclude items from discovery.
    • (NERS 6664) - Disable Item description confirmation message - The confirmation message “The description may need to be updated as well (using the generate button)” will be improved to only show when relevant fields were changed and the description was not updated. Customers who don’t require a reminder for updating the description will be able to disable this completely.
    • (NERS 6969) Batch Update Electronic Collection Attributes - With this new functionality library staff can update attributes of a set of electronic collections in batch using a dedicated job. Library staff will be able to choose which attributes to update and under which conditions.
